About the Schnoodle

The Schnoodle, a delightful mix of Schnauzer and Poodle, brings together the best of both breeds in a package that is as loving as it is clever. Originally bred for companionship, this medium-sized dog quickly became a family favorite due to its affectionate nature and playful demeanor. Schnoodles get along famously with young children and are typically good with other pets, making them an excellent choice for families in any setting. Their friendly disposition and sociability ensure that they not only thrive in a loving home but also bring joy to everyone they meet.

With an energy level that balances playfulness with calmness, Schnoodles enjoy daily exercise but can adapt well to apartment living. A few walks and playful games will keep them happy and fit, and their moderate needs make them a perfect fit for those who may not have the time for extensive outdoor activity every day. While they may let out an occasional bark, their friendly nature usually wins out, keeping the noise levels manageable.

Schnoodles have a unique coat that requires weekly grooming, which allows you to bond over brushing sessions while managing shedding relatively easily. They are known for their intelligence, making training an enjoyable experience for both you and your new pet. These pups thrive on positive reinforcement and can quickly learn commands, tricks, and even some fun behaviors. If you are looking for a loyal companion who is eager to please and adaptable to various lifestyles, a Schnoodle could be just the furry friend for you right here at Petland Katy & Stafford – Houston, Texas.

Living with a Schnoodle

History

The Schnoodle is a hybrid of both the Schnauzer and the Poodle, two actively fierce and adorable dogs. The first appearance of the Schnoodle was in the 1980s. they needed to bring the Poodle’s calm, sensitive and loving characteristics together with a Schnauzer’s active, fierce and intelligent characteristics.

One more thing they needed to do was transfer the Poodle’s hypoallergenic nature to another dog- a new breed. Thus, the Schnoodle was created. The Schnoodle comes mostly in black, black and white, gray and silver.

Temperament

The Schnoodle is a very active dog; they are always jumpy and playful and also love to be the center of attention. They take two distinctive character traits from both parents; from the poodle, they take the attention-seeking desire to please, and from the Schnauzer, they take the full-blown activeness.

They are very friendly and love to be with family and children. They adapt easily to a new environment and they are not very annoying when you first get them as they easily adjust to your characteristics. This adaptability helps in creating a better relationship between you and the dog. They are also highly sensitive dogs. The Schnoodle, because of the intelligence of both parents inherited, is a very intelligent dog.

Environment

The Schnoodle likes being inside an apartment, they do not love large spaces and outdoors, they would rather sit on your lap or be indoors. They do not appreciate cold weather so much, so try to keep your home, or wherever you keep them in a warm temperature. They are bound to be found crouching near where there is warmth, hence their attachment to being carried around. They also enjoy car rides as it affords them time to be near the owner, so they would not mind a drive around town in the evening.

Exercise

Although they are very active dogs, the Schnoodle requires at least 30 minutes to one-hour exercise daily to keep them from gaining weight and to keep them active and healthy. They need to be stimulated both physically and mentally as often as possible, to keep them intelligent.

Grooming

They do not shed a lot, however, you still have to trim their furs, wash them at least five times weekly. It is this regular because their coat is tangle-prone and needs to be kept untangled. You should also remember to clip their nails. Use a blow dryer if they do not dry up fast as they are not such huge fans of the cold.

You have to watch their feeding as they have a high tendency to add a lot of weight. they also do a lot of drooling, so you might have to watch what is kept around them to save you having drool all over your important things. If you mind, that is. Their grooming process is low maintenance and might not even need a visit to the vet to have it done, as it can be done by you, in the comfort of your home.

Our Schnoodle puppies for sale come from either USDA licensed commercial breeders or hobby breeders with no more than 5 breeding mothers. USDA licensed commercial breeders account for less than 20% of all breeders in the country.

The unregulated breeders who are selling outside of the USDA regulations and without a license are what we consider to be “Puppy Mills.” We are committed to offering Schnoodle puppies who will grow up to become important members of your family. We only purchase puppies from the very best sources, and we stand behind every puppy we sell.

We visited Petland today and had an incredible experience choosing our new furry family member — a miniature Goldendoodle! From the moment we walked in, Christopher made us feel welcome, informed, and supported throughout the entire process. He was extremely knowledgeable about the breed, answered all our questions with patience, and never made us feel rushed. You could genuinely tell he cared about both the pets and the people. His friendly attitude and professionalism made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. We left Petland not just with a puppy, but with total confidence that we were prepared for this new journey — all thanks to Christopher. If you're thinking about getting a pet and want a helpful, knowledgeable guide, ask for Christopher. He made our day. Highly recommend - 10/10!
